Yo! The App that, Well, Sends a "Yo!"

There's a new app out there for mobile phones that will send a friend of a loved one a message for you via push notification.  The message is not configurable; it is a simple push of one word - "Yo."

Simple?  They don't get more simple.  So how is it that developers of this simple app just got rewarded with $1,000,000 of private equity funding?

Either there is a long development pipeline of potential augmentation of this technology, or somebody really likes saying "yo."
